Who doesn't love a good cappuccino and a classic American novel? I know I sure do! Cozying up on a big comfy couch in a coffee shop diving into a juicy story of love and loss in Victorian aristocratic society is the only way to spend a chilly fall Saturday afternoon. This leads me to the very FIRST (yippee) HerSilhouette Must Read of the Month! As a current English minor in university, I have a slight obsession with all things Victorian literature (English or American). Something about the condescending air of societal expectations and gender ((in))equalities strikes a cord in me to find out the inner thoughts behind all the plotting and scheming of these gallant gents and gentile ladies. This novel is a HS Must Read because I feel it touches on all these subjects; the question of MARRIAGE....Can a woman really have it all? Marriage, family, a CAREER, happiness? Will she have to sacrifice one for the other? Does she have to conform to Victorian societal expectations of marrying young...marrying UP...establishing herself in the realm of aristocratic social-ites? Does she decide her own fate...or will she conform? THIS IS SO JUICY! READ READ READ. Feel free to post thoughts or comments...just DON'T give the ending away! Trust me, this is a MUST read for a reason! Cheers. :)

Maggie
