Steal Her Style: Sienna

Steal Her Style: Sienna

Sienna Miller is by far my own personal style icon! The way she takes risks and is always evolving and experimenting with different looks (while still keeping her own personal touches in everything) really inspires me to try different styles! In this look, Sienna rocks her signature opaque tights with a gorgeous black tweed jacket and a cream underlayer. Little hint: wearing black opaque tights under a dress or chic shorts in the winter, paired with black heels or ankle booties elongate and slim the look of your legs!

Steal Her Style: Kate

I am loving the way Kate Moss paired the feminine pink cropped trousers with the bold-rocker black and gold accessories! The contrast between the sweet and sassy in her look is part of what Kate's known for!

Steal Her Style: Taylor

Here is a great fall look worn by Taylor Swift! Angora sweaters are back in full force this season, which is why I love this modern take on a very classic look. The yellow skirt with these rich red pumps and lip color are great for a chilly fall afternoon!

Something old, Something new.

My philosophy with fragrance is to have something old and something new! Let me explain... You should always have one signature fragrance that you never get tired of and will always smell lovely in. This can be your "old" perfume. It doesn't necessarily have to be an OLD scent, just one that you've adopted as your own and it remains a timeless signature scent in your life. Your NEW perfume should be your pop of SPICE in life. This is the perfume you can experiment with when your feeling fiesty and in need of a little rebellion. On my vanity, I will always keep my "Old" Coco Chanel Mademoiselle which I LOVE because its light and feminine and lovely. My "New" perfume I just got is the Gucci Premiere which is the latest Gucci scent out. I like it because it has a fiesty darker and richer smell to it. Feel free to post your fav scents, old or new! :)

The Secret to Sleek, Sexy, and SHINY Hair

One thing I love to do is experiment with different hair products. After many years of trying products that claim to create beautiful and shiny hair, I FINALLY found the regimen that will get the job done. I SWEAR BY THIS REGIMEN!

Step 1: Shampoo and condition with Carol's Daughter Monoi. After just the first use with Carol's Daughter shampoo and conditioner, you will notice your hair is softer and shinier. This is because the product does not contain any sulfate, otherwise known as sodium laureth sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate. Sulfate is used in shampoo to create a cheap lathering effect (also used in many household cleaning products). It does nothing for your hair except leave it frizzy and dried out after use. With a sulfate free shampoo, you are allowing the rich vitamins and minerals to absorb in your hair making it stronger and more beautiful.
Step 2: For an even deeper conditioning, Macadamia Natural Oil provides a deep repair masque for your hair that uses natural oils from the macadamia nut to kick up that boost of shine. This is a stronger conditioner so I recommend this every two to three days to prevent OVER shine. (Apparently, this is the masque used by Kim Kardashian's hair stylists, whether thats true or not I'm not sure...but either way it works!)
Step 3: To prevent breakage and heat damage from the blowdryer, Redken's Satin Wear 02 Heat protectant creme is applied to dampened hair post shower. Its a great creme that is activated under the blowdryer to prevent drying and frizzing!
Step 4: POST STYLING, apply John Frieda's Frizz-ease for a final touch of shine to either straight or curled tendrils!

I swear by this process that you will see a difference in your hair after the first use! You can find all these products at your nearest Ulta, and not only are they effective but they smell great too! Buona Fortuna! :)

October Must Read of the Month

"The Portrait of a Lady" -Henry James.
Who doesn't love a good cappuccino and a classic American novel? I know I sure do! Cozying up on a big comfy couch in a coffee shop diving into a juicy story of love and loss in Victorian aristocratic society is the only way to spend a chilly fall Saturday afternoon. This leads me to the very FIRST (yippee) HerSilhouette Must Read of the Month! As a current English minor in university, I have a slight obsession with all things Victorian literature (English or American). Something about the condescending air of societal expectations and gender ((in))equalities strikes a cord in me to find out the inner thoughts behind all the plotting and scheming of these gallant gents and gentile ladies. This novel is a HS Must Read because I feel it touches on all these subjects; the question of MARRIAGE....Can a woman really have it all? Marriage, family, a CAREER, happiness? Will she have to sacrifice one for the other? Does she have to conform to Victorian societal expectations of marrying young...marrying UP...establishing herself in the realm of aristocratic social-ites? Does she decide her own fate...or will she conform? THIS IS SO JUICY! READ READ READ. Feel free to post thoughts or comments...just DON'T give the ending away! Trust me, this is a MUST read for a reason! Cheers. :)
