I know that this may sound crazy...putting oil on your face? Isn't that counter-productive? But I'm telling you this WORKS. If your like me, then you have suffered from acne since middle school...everyone says "Oh you'll grow out of it by your 20's!" Well guess what...that hasn't happened yet! I have tried everything from Proactive to every over the counter cream and treatment you could list (including the expensive ones) and even prescription antibiotics. Yes over time they work, eventually..however this is the first all natural method I have tried without harsh chemicals or peroxides. After coming across the Oil Cleansing Method on some blogs and seeing the pictures I thought I'd give it a try..why not right?! I would not endorse something if I didn't give it a shot myself and witness the results. After 3 nights of this method, I could see a clear differece. No more white heads, no more cystic breakouts, and smooth matte skin tone! The theory behind the method:
"The basic concept of this skin care and cleansing method is that the oil used to massage your skin will dissolve the oil that has hardened with impurities and found itself stuck in your pores. The steam will open your pores, allowing the oil to be easily removed. Should you need it, the smallest drop of the same oil formula patted over damp skin will provide the necessary lubrication to keep your skin from over-compensating in oil production." Source
Recipe:
For oily skin: 30% Castor Oil, 70% Grapeseed Oil
For Normal/Balanced skin: 50% Castor Oil, 50% Grapeseed oil
For Dry Skin: 30% Grapeseed Oil, 70% Castor Oil
Method: Step 1: Mix remedy into bowl in bathroom. Dab fingertips in oil and massage into face. Don't rub like you would a cleanser, massage the oils deep into pores like you they would at a spa! Soak a wash cloth in hot water and wipe off. STEP 2: Dip fingers in a second time and massage into skin again. This time heat a washcloth as hot as you can stand, and then place on your face and let it steam on your skin until wash cloth gets to room temperature. Finally, clean wash cloth and wipe face off.
Your skin will feel softer and have a pretty matte finish. After a few days your breakouts will start to heal and over time scarring will diminish! Hope this helps! Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am glad to say this recipe was a SUCCESS! I love trying new recipes when baking, and pumpkin pie cheesecake just sounded too delicious to pass up. It was pretty simple to make! I advise buying the crackers already crushed (that saves a lot of time crunching graham crackers). For the cranberry sauce I just combined corn syrup and cranberry sauce and then added some fresh cranberries on top! It was DELICIOUS and there were NO leftovers! Definitely going to make this one again! Enjoy. :) xo, Maggie

It's that time of year again! Thanksgiving..finals..Christmas! 2012 is quickly coming to an end and with all of the traveling going on, this outfit is perfect for the airport. I am excited to be taking a trip up north to visit family, and was thinking of something comfortable to travel in! I love the military trend that is happening right now and pairing it with a little leopard is just girly enough! It's comfortable, cute, and careless to get through that security line. I'm such a winter person so I can't WAIT to post more pictures for cold weather outfits! (Something difficult to achieve with bi-polar Texas weather). I am thankful for my wonderful family, the ability to be attending a great University, and all the incredible blessing I have in my life! :) xo, Maggie
As per request, I decided to put up a little tutorial I found for a few different ways to tie a scarf! Scarves are a fall and winter MUST and I am obsessed with them. I would say my personal collection of scarves is well over a few handfuls.. :) Once again, I think H&M is great for finding really cool and fun scarves, but you can also check Zara and Mango! Hope this helps! xo, Maggie

For a long time I searched for a great foundation that conceals, but does not cake on. One day I was shopping at Ulta and they happened to have a promotion for an Australian makeup line called Napoleon Perdis. I had some time to spare in between classes, so my sister and I decided to sign up for a free makeup tutorial with their products. My artist was a BLAST and he explained that Napoleon made his products for a wet-humid climate because he noticed women were having problems with oily foundations in the Outback. Well, living in Texas with the heat and humidity makes it difficult to maintain a fresh and powdered face throughout the day. China Doll foundation is AWESOME. Its not too thick to where it looks caked on, but it lasts the entire day and is great at concealing acne marks and dark circles! The Auto Pilot primer is an extra boost to set the foundation before use and it helps with controlling shine and oil. The Bronze Patrol Luminizer/Bronzer leaves a really pretty mirage of different shades of warmths and pinks for your cheekbones. (My makeup artist even told me a secret that he sometimes uses it for a neutral eyeshadow too and you don't even need to use a contour shadow because the colors are multi-dimensional..it was really pretty!) The lipsticks are great because they double as lip moisturizer too...my artist gave me Atalanta, which is a really pretty coral color! Atalanta is great when you want a pretty POP of color! Anybody ever tried other Napolean Perdis products? Let me know what you think! Ci vediamo. :) xo, Maggie
Looking for a GORGEOUS cocktail dress for an event or a night out on the town? This dress emulates Kim's designer gown with all the beautiful details on the bust. The nude illusion draws attention to the right areas, giving you that SEXY Silhouette...just what we want right? :) xo, Maggie
Sienna Miller is by far my own personal style icon! The way she takes risks and is always evolving and experimenting with different looks (while still keeping her own personal touches in everything) really inspires me to try different styles! In this look, Sienna rocks her signature opaque tights with a gorgeous black tweed jacket and a cream underlayer. Little hint: wearing black opaque tights under a dress or chic shorts in the winter, paired with black heels or ankle booties elongate and slim the look of your legs! xo, Maggie
